The Spanish Paula Badosa, a number eleven of the world ranking, retired on Monday from Miami Open due to injury, shortly before her round of 16 against Filipina Alexandra Eala, the WTA reported.
Badosaa ended this Sunday against the Danish Clara Tauson with discomfort in the back and, despite trying to recover in time, he had to renounce the tournament.
The 27 -year -old Spanish has lived with back problems for months and last February he had to retire from the Mérida tournament for this same injury.
He was no longer in Indian Wells to continue his recovery
He resigned to compete in Indian Wells, two weeks ago, to continue his recovery process and in Miami two rounds had passed, against Canadian Victoria Mboko and against Tauson.
Precisely against the Danish, Badosa had to ask for medical attention at the beginning of the second set by noticing back pain. Despite that, he managed to win the game 6-3 and 7-6 (3).
