The popular singer Bad Bunny will be the protagonist of a new movie from Sony’s Marvel universe. The 28-year-old Puerto Rican will star in “El Muerto,” whose central character is a masked wrestler with superpowers.
The announcement was made on the first day of CinemaCon, an event that brings together movie theater owners from around the world. “Bringing ‘El Muerto’ to life is simply incredible… so exciting that I still don’t believe it,” Bad Bunny told those present. The premiere of the film is scheduled for 2024.

Who is ‘The Dead’?
Known as Juan-Carlos Estrada Sánchez in the comics, ‘El Muerto’ is a wrestler whose powers are passed down through ancestry in the form of a mask (which, according to the official Marvel site, gives him superhuman strength). On occasion, ‘The dead man’ has climbed into the ring to fight Spider-Man himself.
On stage at CinemaCon, Sony executives suggested that Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, Bad Bunny, will play an antihero about to inherit his father’s power.
