The RUCECAN company has been the awarded the works of the second phase of the bike lane that connects the towns of Reinosa and Matamorosawhich makes up the last section. This action, which will allow connecting the cycling section between both townswill link the residential areas of both centers with industrial estates, administrative centers and intermodal points, such as the bus stations and the Reinosa railway.
The Final investment of the work has been awarded at 409,085 euros, 52,333 less than the tender price (461,418.80 euros including VAT), and an execution period of 5 monthswith the expectation that the works will begin immediately. Like the previous tranche, it is proposed for 60 percent financing with ERDF funds.
He Minister of Development, Roberto Mediahas indicated that this new section includes the construction of different types of cycle pathswith two axes that for the most part will be a lane segregated from automobile traffic. In addition, it will allow the use of bicycles “as safe and ecological transportation” between the two capitals of the municipalities of Campoo de Enmedio and Reinosa, he commented.
CIRCUIT OF THE WORK
The first axis of the bicycle lane is begins on the east sidewalk of the Plaza de las Estaciones, in Reinosa. from there Cross the park heading west and then continue along Castilla Avenue heading south. After crossing the railway level crossing, the route continues towards Matamorosa along the existing footbridge over the Híjar River, a structure on which no action is planned.
