After the last tests to which it was subjected in recent days, the new one Aston Martin V12 Vantage Roadster has finally come out into the open. The British car manufacturer took advantage of the setting offered by the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance to unveil the convertible version of its sports car: according to the latest rumors it should be the latest V12 convertible made by the company, and only will be produced 249 specimensabout a hundred fewer than those built in the coupe version.
The fabric hood is the main distinguishing feature of the Roadster version of the V12 Vantage, but it is not the only element that differentiates this variant from the coupé one: Aston Martin has decided to make a series of further stylistic changes, so as to give the convertible an even more sober appearance. For example, the rear spoiler disappears, which can still be installed on request, while the aerodynamics of the underbody has been optimized to compensate for the loss of load of this version of the car. The front also appears redesigned, with 25% more grille area than that mounted on the Vantage with V8 engine, while the reinforced wheel arches complete the aesthetic overview together with the 21 ″ alloy wheels wrapped in high-performance Michelin Pilot 4S tires: the latter can be finished in satin black or two-tone silver on black, while forged alloys weighing around 8 kg are available as an option.
What does not change compared to the coupe version of the V12 Vantage is precisely the V12: confirmed the 5.2-liter twelve-cylinder engine it produces 690 hp of maximum power. Although the Roadster version is 60 kilograms heavier (weighs 1,850 kg) than the coupe, it is able to accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in just 3.5 seconds, thus taking only a tenth of a second longer than the coupe, and to reach a top speed in excess of 320 km / h.
