F1 2024, what year will it be?
When you witness such evident dominance in an F1 season, it makes you wonder what the upcoming season could be like. From a sporting point of view, we always hope for a balanced World Championship, but the cars go on the track, the result of more or less effective ideas, projects and routes. That of Red Bull is consolidated to the maximum, but last year McLaren took away the embarrassment of the competition, demonstrating how inspired by the RB19 you can go upstream at great speed.
While waiting to see the new cars on 13 and 14 February, in 2024 Ferrari and Mercedes should follow McLaren's example, confirming the abandonment of the concepts they had stubbornly pursued, giving up only during 2023.
Krack's words
In the name of that convergence of performance that we witness every cycle, Aston Martin also believes that Red Bull will not dominate like last year: “If you have such a strong car, like Red Bull, I think many will try to go in that direction“, these are the words of team principal Mike Krack. “We then heard from Ferrari and Mercedes that they will make big changes. We are therefore curious to see what they have in store for us“.
Precisely because everyone will take inspiration from Red Bull, however, the Luxembourger does not expect revolutions in the hierarchies in 2024: “Regulatory stability puts the emphasis back on operations because. If the cars are close, it will be the small details that make the difference on the grid position. The gaps will only narrow, but I would be surprised if there were large deviations from where we are now“.
