The new Aston Martin DBX707 and the Currently the most powerful SUV on the marketthanks to his over 700 hp of power. It presents itself as the fastest, the most powerful and the most manageable. Three firsts that DBX707 aims to conquer. It is an aesthetic and technical evolution of the DBX with V8 engine.
Aston Martin DBX707 V8 engine features
Starting with the powertrain, Aston Martin’s engineering team set out to unleash the engine’s full potential 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 of DBX, which now boasts ball bearing turbochargers and a bespoke tuning to deliver superior power and torque. Another novelty is the 9-speed automatic transmission in oil bath.
The power now comes to 707 hp and 900 Nm of torque, an increase of 157 hp and 200 Nm compared to DBX (V8). The adoption of the new oil bath gearbox brings further advantages. Among the most obvious, much faster gear changes compared to transmission with torque converter. Acceleration ability has also been improved, contributing to a breakthrough time from 0 to 100 km / h in 3.3 seconds.
The DBX707 is equipped as standard with brakes carbon ceramic. The discs, 420 mm front and 390 mm rear, are held in place by 6-piston calipers. Changes to the hydraulic dimensions and to the booster of the braking system improve pedal sensations and the braking responseincreasing driving precision and safety.
The brake cooling has been improved by introducing air from both the main cooling vent and the sub-deck, and the high performance pads ensure excellent continuity of friction over a wide range of temperatures.
Rims and tires are from 22 “as standard (choosing the Sport and Ribbon versions), with the possibility to choose 23 “alloy wheels in textured black or satin black with diamond accents.
Aston Martin DBX707 limited slip differential
DBX707 also features a new version of the electronic self-locking rear differential limited slip (e-diff). Strengthened to handle full torque of 900Nm, it boasts a modified (lower) final ratio of 3.27 compared to the 3.07 ratio of DBX’s V8.
There torque distribution between the front and rear axles it remains fully automatic, with the ability to send, upon request, up to 100% of the torque to the rear axle.
Aston Martin DBX707 trim and suspension
The crux of the DBX707’s exceptional handling lies in its system automatic suspension. Retaining the basic architecture and triple air chambers of DBX’s V8, which at the time was already considered the most manageable SUV on the market – DBX707 features a dedicated frameoptimized according to requests and objectives that leave no room for compromise.
Right from the suspension, the DBX707 boasts new damper valves and a recalibration of the volume switching of the dynamic springs, to improve body control and steering response. The system of the electronic power steering it has been developed to improve the steering feel, with a greater decentralized accumulation of effort.
Together with tighter handling of sliding (vertical movement over bumps and ridges or in compression), pitch (when the vehicle lowers under braking or tilts under acceleration) and body roll, DBX707 helps the driver in adjust the yaw of the car by operating the pedals or the steering wheel. Other details have been changed, for example al eARC system (Electronic Active Roll Control), fine-tuning the parameters that increase the sense of agility and improve the dynamic balance of the vehicle.
Aston Martin DBX707 GT, Sport and Sport + driving modes
To emphasize the driver’s centrality of the DBX707, changes and improvements have also been made to the dynamic driving modes. The “Race Start” is available in the modes GT, Sport and Sport + to maximize off-line acceleration and really bring out the improved performance. The revised active logic of the system transfer box four-wheel drive generates greater harmony and more precise control between the transmission and ESP system, for a more natural and sporty driving experience.
With the intention of ensuring full control to the driver, DBX707 introduces a revised lower console containing new driving mode switches. Now the driver, instead of entering a submenu in the infotainment system, has a immediate check of the main dynamic modes and settings.
They include dedicated buttons for suspension mode, ESP, manual gear selection mode – which now keeps manual mode like a sports car instead of defaulting back to automatic – and the activation of the active drainwhich opens the valves of the new quad muffler exhaust system without needing to be in mode Sport.
Aston Martin DBX707 exterior features
In keeping with massive engineering enhancements, the DBX707’s exterior and interior design has been equally meticulously revamped.
In front therefore one larger front grille and a revamped design of the daytime running lights as well new air intakes and brake cooling ducts, along with a new profile of the front splitter. There satin chrome grilleenlarged to significantly increase cooling airflow for both the ultra-high-performance V8 and the new 9-speed gearbox, features adouble readsthe six horizontal bars have been divided to get a more interesting visual effect.
The dark satin chrome window edges and the new hood fins match perfectly with the front grille and shiny black splitter. A rear on the roof has been added new spoiler with flange to reduce lift and increase stability at high speeds, with a double rear diffuser considerably enlarged to adapt it to the increased diameter of the quadruple exhaust system.
Aston Martin DBX707 cockpit, how is it inside?
The sporting theme continues inside with i Sport seats available as standard (Comfort seats are available as an option at no extra cost). All options are fitted as standard with the 16-position electric adjustmentalong with front and rear heating.
