Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon after a long time it marked the return of a beloved but niche saga, which had been overshadowed by FromSoftware. What will happen going forward? Can we expect new chapters? According to what was indicated by Hidetaka Miyazaki himself, president of FromSoftwarethe company absolutely intends to give a sequel to Armored Core.
The information comes from an interview by IGN Japan, which was translated into English by FandomWire. Miyazaki spoke about the importance of Armored Core to FromSoftware, explaining that the company absolutely wants to continue given that, from their point of view, Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon was a success.
This though it doesn’t mean that the shooter is considered perfect by Miyazaki. The Japanese creative has in fact stated that the game is a starting point and that FromSoftware must build on it to improve the video game.
Miyazaki’s exact words
“The Armored Core series is very important to FromSoftware,” Miyazaki told IGN Japan. “We have one strong desire to continue it in the future. I think Armored Core 6 was a success.”
“On the other hand, not everything was perfect and there is still room for improvementso I’m not going to stop there,” he added.
We are certain that the Armored Core enthusiasts they’ll be more than happy to know that FromSoftware has no plans to shelve the series.
Obviously this doesn’t tell us how long will we have to wait for FromSoftware to make a new Armored Core. Considering that the company will hardly be able to ignore the success of Elden Ring and the fact that video game development times are increasingly longer, it could easily take many years before we see Armored Core 7, at least until the next generation of consoles.
