Geert Wilders called for the deportation of Palestinians to Jordan, after he achieved a major victory in the parliamentary elections in the Netherlands a few days ago.
This extremist politician, known for his hostility to Islam, considers “Jordan to be the Palestinian state.”
Geert Wilders, the anti-Islam populist politician, won a major victory in the Dutch elections, in a stunning shift towards the far right, which puts him at the helm of talks to form the next ruling coalition and may become the first far-right prime minister of the Netherlands.
“A call to escalate aggression”
On Saturday, the Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned Wilders’ statements, stressing that he denied with his words “the rights of the Palestinian people, especially their right to embody their independent state on their land, their homeland, with East Jerusalem as its capital, calling for the displacement of our people and the solution of their problem at the expense of the sisterly Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.”
She added in a statement: “The Ministry considers these statements an invitation to escalate the aggression against our people and a blatant interference in their affairs and fate.”
“I deny the rights of the Palestinian people”
The Jordanian Foreign Minister, Ayman Al-Safadi, made a phone call with his Dutch counterpart, Hanke Brons-Sloot, during which he affirmed Jordan’s condemnation and rejection of the racist positions announced by Wilders.
Al-Safadi considered, according to what was reported by the Jordanian News Agency, Petra, that Wilders “denied the inalienable right of the Palestinian people to their freedom and state on their national territory, and adopted the illusion of the possibility of resolving the Palestinian issue at Jordan’s expense.”
Al-Safadi stressed, “There is no value or effect to these absurd, extremist racist positions of the Dutch representative, and that their only effect is to expose this representative’s racism, which is born from a disgusting culture of hatred.”
Sloat affirmed her country’s respect for the historical friendly relations between the two countries, which are based on mutual respect, and its support for the two-state solution as a way to resolve the conflict and achieve comprehensive peace.
“It is unacceptable and condemnable.”
The UAE Embassy in The Hague confirmed that the irresponsible statements made by Dutch parliamentarian Geert Wilders, “in which he incites the displacement of the Palestinian people towards Jordan, is considered interference in the internal affairs of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, and is rejected and condemned.”
The UAE embassy said in a statement carried by the official WAM agency: “The UAE stands in absolute solidarity with brotherly Jordan and stresses the importance of respecting its sovereignty. It also rejects any denial of the rights of the brotherly Palestinian people and their right to their independent state.”
“Hateful racist thought”
The Bahraini Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed its “strong condemnation of the statements made by a Dutch politician denying the rights of the brotherly Palestinian people and their right to establish their independent, sovereign state on their national territory, and inciting the displacement of the Palestinian people to the sisterly Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.”
The Foreign Ministry confirmed, according to what was reported by the official news agency “BNA”, that the statements of right-wing Dutch parliamentarian Geert Wilders indicate a hateful racist ideology that denies the facts of history and geography, and aims to distort the facts and spread a culture of hatred and racism that contradicts the lofty moral and humanitarian values that must prevail in the world. “All together.”
The ministry called “to condemn and combat such misleading ideas, expressing its full solidarity with the sisterly Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.”
