Apple recently announced the winners of the 2024 Apple Design Awards, celebrating the best apps and games of the year. This year’s winners they have demonstrated how apps can create powerful and moving experiences, and we are thrilled to celebrate their hard work and ingenuity at WWDC.” There are seven award categories, each recognizing an app and game for excelling in different areas. For the “Inclusiveness” category, AYES’ oko app from Belgium won recognition for its support for blind pedestrians, using haptic and audio feedback to signal the status of traffic lights. The Crayola Adventures game from Red Games Co. from the USA won thanks to its numerous creation options that include characters of different skin tones, abilities and body types. Innovation was recognized for the Procreate Dreams app from Procreate from Australia, a powerful design tool that allows you to create 2D animations with an intuitive interface and support for Apple Pencil. The Lost in Play game from Happy Juice Games from Israel enchanted the judges with its adorable characters and puzzles. In the “Interaction” category, the Crouton app by Devin Davies from New Zealand stood out with its clean interface that makes it easy to manage recipes and shopping lists. The Rytmos game from Floppy Club from Denmark won over with its musical puzzles that evolve through simple drag and drop gestures.
For social impact, the Gentler Streak Fitness Tracker app from Gentler Stories from Slovenia received the award for its optimistic and encouraging approach to tracking physical and mental well-being. The Pixel Hunt’s The Wreck game from France impressed with its deep narrative that invites players to reflect on their choices. The “Visuals and Graphics” category saw the triumph of the Rooms app from Things, Inc. from the United States, which offers a platform to build imaginary scenes and interact with other people’s creations. The game Lies of P from NEOWIZ from South Korea captivated with its stunning textures and visual effects. Finally, the new category dedicated to “Spatial Computer” in virtual and augmented reality, awarded the djay pro – DJ App & AI Mixer app from algoriddim GmbH from Germany, which offers an innovative way of interacting with music in a 3D environment . The Blackbox game from Shapes and Stories from the USA challenged users with its creative puzzles in a three-dimensional space.
