The fast Volkswagen T-Roc R dies for the Netherlands, but the T-Roc Cabrio remains
That silly T-Roc Cabrio is apparently not so bad, because Volkswagen grants the high cabriolet an extension in the Netherlands. You are looking at the facelift of the Volkswagen T-Roc, which has been at the dealer for four years now. What is special is that Volkswagen in the Netherlands does delete the fast R version. The R is still being delivered abroad. We expected it to be exactly the other way around – not a convertible, but an R – so we dug into the numbers.
And sure enough, there are quite a few people who have bought the Volkswagen T-Roc Convertible. Of the total of more than 22,000 T-Rocs with a Dutch registration number, more than 450 have a folding roof. That is much more than there are, according to the RDW, of the T-Roc R: there are only about 100.
Tell us more about the facelift
Oh yes, the facelift of the Volkswagen T-Roc. The bumpers are slightly changed and there are new rims to choose from. The headlights are now fitted with LEDs as standard and the taillights are also slightly different. The infotainment screen has climbed out of the dashboard and is now on top of it. As with the Polo, the screen behind the steering wheel is now standard. The materials for the interior would now feel softer and be of higher quality.
The engines are old acquaintances from before the facelift. No more 300 hp T-Roc with four-wheel drive, but just a three-cylinder with 110 hp and a 1.5-liter with 150 hp. However, the tamer version of the 2.0-liter from the R is available. It has 190 hp and a DSG automatic transmission. There are no diesels for the Netherlands. The prices of the Volkswagen T-Roc facelift will follow shortly.
