“The Siaarti Foundation, aimed at the 10,000 members of our scientific society, but in general at the entire category, represents an opportunity for internationalization and institutional collaboration to expand all areas of research related to our specialty”. Massimo Antonelli, past president of the Italian Society of Anesthesia, Analgesia, Resuscitation and Intensive Care and member of the Board of Directors of the newly formed Foundation, told Adnkronos Salute, on the occasion of the celebrations – today in the Refectory Hall of the Chamber of Deputies – of the 90th anniversary of the birth of the society, which took place in Rome on 24 September 1934.
“The arc and trajectory that Siaarti has followed since 1934 – Antonelli underlines – has led to the Foundation being able to expand research and delve deeper into the field, providing a further opportunity for evolution and above all for work in the Third Sector, that is, non-profit companies. Also to be able to enhance as much as possible a path that we have already undertaken as a society, which is that of the humanization of care. A path that began before Covid with projects such as that of open therapies, which we now want to relaunch”.
“The most pressing problems of the category – he then concluded – are naturally a lack of anesthetists and resuscitators on the national territory, given the multiplicity of activities that our specialty is intended to cover, and then the possibility of trying to work in a fair and identical manner throughout the territory having the right resources available”.
