In Don’t Look Up, the film directed by Adam McKay that brings together Oscar winners like the famous Meryl Streep, Jennifer Lawrence, Leonardo DiCaprio and Cate Blanchett, the Peruvian actor André Silva appears in a scene recorded in Paracas. “Seeing a scene of mine in a movie starring actors of the stature of Leonardo DiCaprio is incredible. I felt deep pride in what I had accomplished in my career. It is a small participation, but without a doubt a great experience, which I take with great gratitude and prompts me to continue stubborn in what I love so much ”.
The actor says that the casting was done in “absolute confidentiality”, even he did not know for which film he was applying. “Not at first, but when the coordination was finalized, and being in the film was a reality, undoubtedly they already gave me all the details I needed. It was there that I exploded with happiness ”.
The scene that André Silva recorded arrives together with others filmed in different countries. In Don’t Look Up (Netflix), DiCaprio and Lawrence are two scientists who discover that a comet will cause the end of the world. “The scene took place in Paracas, and since dawn it was a great day. I was very happy to be a part of that project. He knew that what he was going to do was not something gigantic, but even so the emotion was very great. I could not believe it. The joy increased more knowing that I would do it next to a great director, who I admire and respect very much as he is. Jorge Carmona”.

The actor points out that he came to the casting for the Peruvian production company that already works with Netflix. “Tondero international, those who represent me, contacted me saying that there was a call for a very important film. They had submitted my profile and Netflix had liked it a lot. “
In this sense, André says that he “appreciates the opportunity” and that international platforms are committed to bringing together local artists. “It seems important to me that brands as large as Netflix help to make local talent visible through these calls, and by talent I do not mean only the actors, but also the great professionals who are behind the camera, in this case Jorge Carmona . I know it is not a great scene, however, there is a very big logistics behind it, which involves everything from jobs to the feeling of pride in knowing that your work will be seen by millions of people around the world. It is a very nice feeling.
