“Andor”, the “Star Wars” series for Disney Plus, showed Cassian’s past during its 12 episodes. To the surprise of the franchise, expectations were not met despite the mature proposal, character development and critical support.
“It marks a huge and welcome break from the typical model (…) It tells a nuanced and carefully crafted story of how a rebellion becomes the flame that lights the fuse,” praised Variety.
Parrot Analytics specialist Brandon Katz took to his official Twitter account to express his disappointment at the low numbers for the show. In order to support his comment, he shared a graph that left no doubt about his performance on the streaming platform.
“The most disappointing trend I’ve come across recently is how audience demand for ‘Andor’ is overwhelmingly lower than the first seasons of ‘The Mandalorian,’ ‘The Book of Boba Fett,’ and ‘Obi-Wan.’ ”, he expressed.
Why did “Andor” fail?
For Rolling Stone’s review, it was a shame that the first four episodes had almost no shape. As for its narrative, Mashable points out that it was drawn out and inflated more than necessary and that not even the beautiful cinematography or action can make this detail be ignored.
What is the series about?
The prequel to “Rogue one” centers on the journey of Cassian Andor, who seeks to discover what kind of difference he is capable of making. The narrative brings to the fore the tale of the rebellion against the Empire and how everyone got involved in it.
