The statue took six weeks to make, and was sculpted to look just like the wife, with colored gray hair and a pink traditional Indian dress.
Two cranes were required to transport the model to Vijay’s home.
He said that he wanted to convey the importance of love between spouses to today’s youth.
Vijay is not the first to try and immortalize his wife in unique ways, as another Indian who lost his wife also spent £ 2,500 to design a doll similar to her.
While Tapas Sandelia, 65, made a silicone statue of his late partner.
Tapas told the Times of India that a few years ago, he visited a Hindu temple with his late wife, and the couple marveled at a lifelike statue of a religious figure.
He added, “I returned to the same temple after her death, and I wanted a similar statue to fulfill her desire.”
