The Provincial Police of Navarra arrested an 83-year-old man this Sunday morning as the alleged perpetrator of the death of his 55-year-old son. The events occurred around 8:15 at the home where they both lived in Labiano, a municipality of just 160 residents in the Aranguren Valley. Citizen Security, Judicial Police and Scientific Police patrols have traveled there, in charge of the investigation. The detainee has already been transferred to the Foral Police central station in Pamplona and is waiting to be brought to justice. The victim has two minor daughters.
The detainee, a hunter, shot his son with a shotgun during an argument, according to initial information. The residents of this small municipality have assured that the relationship between the two was “toxic” and the discussions they had were very common.
The removal of the victim's body was formalized at 11:45 and the body was transferred to the Navarro Institute of Legal Medicine and Forensic Sciences, where the autopsy will be performed in the next few hours.
A court of first instance and investigation in Aoiz has taken charge of the investigation, according to judicial sources cited by Efe. The police have 72 hours to place the detainee at the disposal of the judge in charge of the case.
