His Highness Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman and Chairman of the Executive Council, received the platinum certificate “ISO Sustainable Cities and Quality of Life”, which the emirate obtained from the World Cities Data Council.
This came during the ceremony of handing over the certificate via video call with Dr. Patricia McCarney, President of the World Cities Data Council – which is based in Canada – in the presence of Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Tourism Development Department, Sheikh Humaid bin Ammar Al Nuaimi, and Dr. Saeed Saif Al Matrooshi, Secretary General of the Council Executive Director of the Emirate, and a number of sheikhs, general managers and senior officials in the Emirate.
His Highness said that the Ajman government has achieved a new achievement to be added to its record of achievements by obtaining the “ISO” certificate in the cities data.
His Highness announced that the Emirate of Ajman has submitted two ISO certificates, which are the “ISO Resilient Cities Certificate” and the “ISO Smart Cities Certificate”, so that it is among the first cities in the world that aspire to obtain three international specifications.
He heard from Dr. Hajar Al-Hubaishi, Executive Director of the Ajman Center for Statistics and Competitiveness, a detailed explanation of the emirate’s journey in measuring indicators within the approved methodology.
His Highness Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi stressed that achieving the platinum rank means that the Emirate of Ajman was able to collect data on most of the indicators and in accordance with the methodology stipulated by the standards of the specification, and was well able to provide the organization with data for more than 90 indicators. He praised the role of the center and the cooperation of local, federal and private government agencies in obtaining this international certificate, and the importance of the tasks undertaken by the center in supporting decision-makers.
At the end of the meeting, His Highness Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi honored the cooperating bodies from the Statistics and Competitiveness Center and the most contributors to the provision of ISO indicators for sustainable cities and quality of life.
