Chihuahua.- On the morning of this Friday, February 18, President Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO) said in his usual conference that the journalists in Mexico are not always killed for their work.
In an event held from Chihuahua, AMLO affirmed that the Fourth Transformation works to reach the ultimate consequences in violence against these professionals, and blamed “vested interest groups” for the murders of members of the press.
“It has nothing to do with journalism at all, but it has to do with vested interest groups,” said Morena’s founder.

President López Obrador asked those who provided news coverage for the morning conference to take into account that “most journalists deserve our respect, our admiration.” In addition, he pointed out that it is difficult to carry out their work “in the states.”
The aggression against reporters has gained greater visibility with the murder of five so far in 2022 alone, two of them in Tijuana, Baja California, who had already requested protection from the authorities after being threatened.
For its part, AMLO He has been harshly criticized for constantly insulting the image of the press in his public presentations with direct accusations against journalists and media outlets that criticize him.
One of the most notorious cases is that of Carlos Loret de Mola, whose alleged income was revealed by the president, a fact that goes against national laws and exposes the communicator to danger.
