20th Century Studios released a new trailer for Alien: Romulus, the next film in the Alien franchise, and incidentally shared its release date. This is how this film will hit theaters on August 16, 2024.
This film is directed by Fede Álvarez, and can be considered a separate creation that can stand on its own. In his story, a group of collectors arrive with their ship at an abandoned station in space.
At first it is not very clear why there is no one on board. But as these fortune seekers explore it, the horror begins in Alien: Romulus.
We recommend: Alien: Romulus – when it releases, what to expect and what’s coming for this space horror saga.
The xenomorphs have invaded this place and are only looking for new victims so they can reproduce. The idea behind this film is to recreate what makes the franchise successful. That is, a small cast of characters in an isolated and dark setting on the brink of danger.
In the latter case, it is the xenomorphs that represent a threat that can appear at any time. The actors confirmed so far for Alien: Romulus They are Cailee Spaeny (Rain Carradine), David Jonsson (Andy), Archie Renaux (Tyler), Sabela Merced (Kay), Spike Fearn (Bjorn) and Aileen Wu (Navarro).
From what it seems, the annoying space huggers, the initial form of these aliens, will be the source of several scares in the film.
Not for nothing does one of them appear highlighted in the most recent poster. Alien: Romulus is the newest installment in its own series, and is something very apart from what they were Prometheus and Alien: Covenant.
The latter seek to explain where the xenomorphs come from. But the new film seeks to tell a story within the same universe that is handled separately, with its own characters and situations. The public will decide if it’s worth it in August of this year.
