The Police forces arrested this Friday an individual who entered the Iranian consulate in Paris, supposedly with explosives.
The police operation that began to address this threat is still ongoing and the security perimeter has not been lifted for now.

BFMTV television reported that The individual left the consulate of his own free will and was arrested by the rapid intervention forces. The detainee's objects and the vehicle in which he arrived at the location are being searched to determine if he actually entered the diplomatic headquarters with explosives.
The man, whose motive is still unknown, entered the consulate around 11:00 a.m. Some witnesses indicated that he took off his coat and was wearing a handmade vest in which, apparently, there were explosives.

“A witness saw a man entering with a grenade or an explosive belt,” said a source from the police prefecture.
The newspaper Le Parisien pointed out that The individual placed several flags on the ground and assured that his objective is to avenge his brother's death.
This event occurs amid growing tension in the Middle East and a few days after Iran directly attacked Israeli territory for the first time in history, in retaliation for the bombing of its consulate in Damascus.

The Iranian consulate in Paris does not have a high level of activity, due to the coldness between the two countries, which means that few visas are issued. Because of its nuclear program, Paris imposed harsh sanctions on Tehran, accusing it of holding four French citizens detained for political reasons and considered hostages.
The Iranian ambassador in Paris was summoned last Monday by the French Foreign Ministry to convey a message of firm rejection after Tehran's attack on Israel with missiles and drones on Saturday night.
