The head of the Republic of Crimea Sergey Aksenov on Thursday, October 28, congratulated Ukraine on the Day of Liberation from Nazi invaders and wished the country to quickly cleanse itself of the “Nazi scum”.
“I congratulate our brothers on the Day of the Liberation of Ukraine from the Nazi invaders, I wish the soonest cleansing of the Ukrainian land from the Nazi scum!” – he wrote in his Telegram channel.
Aksenov also stressed that all four Ukrainian fronts participated in the victory over the Nazis, but now Kiev propaganda is trying to give this an ethnic flavor.
According to the head of Crimea, this date recalls “our common history, the contribution of our fathers, grandfathers and great-grandfathers to the Great Victory.”
Earlier, on October 20, the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine (NSDC) proposed calling the Great Patriotic War Soviet-German. The terminology is proposed in the dictionary of names and terms, which was developed by the apparatus (NSDC). The term “Great Patriotic War” is mentioned in the dictionary in the section “Terminology Associated with the Propaganda and Politics of Historical Memory”.
Senator from Crimea Olga Kovitidi called it “blasphemous statements betraying the memory and heroism of their ancestors.” According to her, such statements by the Ukrainian authorities require Russians to be aware and effectively oppose any attempts to falsify history.
On August 24, the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Maria Zakharova, called on the Ukrainian authorities to end the war with the memory of the real heroes of the Great Patriotic War and with their descendants. Thus, she commented on the refusal of the Ukrainian authorities to travel to Kharkov to the Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation Konstantin Kosachev. He planned to take part in the celebrations dedicated to the Day of the liberation of the city from the Nazi invaders on August 23.
Until 2015, Ukraine officially celebrated Victory Day in the Great Patriotic War on May 9, but in April 2015, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted a law “On the perpetuation of the victory over Nazism in World War II of 1939-1945.” Now the country celebrates the Day of Remembrance and Reconciliation on May 8, and May 9 is the Day of Victory over Nazism in World War II.
