Adif suspends the Madrid-València high-speed line in Albacete due to the waterspout

The rainy season has forced traffic to be interrupted on the high-speed line between Valencia and Madrid due to accumulation of water between Siete Aguas and Chiva, stopped at the Albacete junction since 5:54 p.m.

The AVE Madrid Chamartín (4:30 p.m.)-València Joaquín Sorolla (6:24 p.m.), from 5:45 p.m., circulation between Siete Aguas and Chiva has been temporarily and preventively suspended due to flooding of the Torrent tunnel and Adif has confirmed that since then it has not carried out No train leaves from the València Joaquín Sorolla station.

Thus, for safety reasons and given the “adverse” weather situation, the trains to and/or from Valencia Joaquín Sorolla have been suspended “until the network situation is normalized,” the railway administrator stated.

Specifically, the Gijón (11.09)-Castelló (18.36) AVE has been affected, stopped in Siete Aguas since 5:31 p.m.; the AVE Valencia Joaquín Sorolla (17.42)-Burgos (21.29), without departure; and the AVE Madrid Chamartín (4:30 p.m.)-Valencia Joaquín Sorolla (6:24 p.m.), detained at the Albacete junction from 5:54 p.m.
