Activision Blizzard announced that “will suspend new sales of and in [suoi] games in Russia“while the war against Ukraine persists. The company is also increasing employee donations to organizations that”they provide immediate relief in the region“.
In a Press releasethe president and COO of Activision Blizzard Daniel Alegre said the company is committed to helping “those affected by this terrifying violence and to provide assistance in any way possible“.
“Over the past week, we have seen news from Ukraine and the worsening of the humanitarian crisis that is unfolding. Our company’s commitment is to help those affected by this terrifying violence and to provide assistance in any way possible“, said Alegre.
“We announce that Activision Blizzard will suspend new sales of and in our games in Russia as this conflict continues. We will continue to look for ways to support the Ukrainian people. We want to reassure you that the safety of our employees is the top priority of our management team. We are doing everything possible to assist employees and their families who are directly affected by this tragedy“.
“I also want to take a moment to acknowledge the incredible work of our teams to support the Ukrainian peopleThe statement continued. The company has raised over $ 300,000 in donations so far.

Across the video game industry, companies responded with large donations to humanitarian organizations and support for Ukrainian-based staff. Recently, Apple also suspended sales of its products in the country.
