The 'first' in the house
Having set the record for precociousness in the last GP of the Americas, in which he became the youngest rider ever to reach the podium twice in a row in MotoGP, Pedro Acosta will try to achieve a personal hat trick in the next appointment Jerez de la Fronteraon a special circuit for the 19-year-old from KTM: for the 'Tiburon', in fact, it will be the first home GP in the premier class of the MotoGP.
The ranking situation
A unique appointment therefore for the GASGAS-Tech3 team driver, and not only for the fact of being able to race in front of the compatriot public. In the world championship standings, in fact, the Spaniard is momentarily in fourth position ahead of the reigning world champion Francesco Bagnaia, but only four points behind on the other Enea's official Ducati Bastianini, now 2nd.
No pressure
A ranking situation which, while waiting for the home race, could put pressure on the Moto3 and Moto2 champion, who is actually approaching the Andalusian weekend with relative calm: “So far we have already achieved two podiums in a row and now we can't wait to race in Jerez – he has declared – but things don't change, I don't feel the pressure. What I have is the desire to get on the track and race in front of what are perhaps the best fans in the world. Our goal for the weekend remains the same: we want have fun and at the same time continue to work hard. It's true that Jerez de la Frontera is one of my favorite tracks and our test team also lapped there often. Because of this I'm sure the bike will perform well. We also know that the RC16 performs well in Jerez if we look at the results for 2023. This motivates me even more to give my all in the first session on Friday.”
