Starting this week, rural musicians have a platform to show the public what their work is like far from big cities. Starting this Wednesday, Chords Rurales is available, a multimedia video podcast that gives voice to these professionals. The project, by the Aragonese audiovisual production company El Kappa Producciones, invites listeners to discover the authenticity and creativity of the artists they encounter its inspiration in the most remote and genuine corners of the country.
Its first season, made up of eight episodes, has been recorded in different autonomous communities: Aragón, Asturias, Navarra, La Rioja and Castilla y León. Each program, 30 to 40 minutes long, combines live performances and interviews with the artists in their natural surroundings. The project has the financial support of the Ministry of Culture and the support of several town councils where the different chapters have been recorded.
“The idea of making this program has emerged as a natural evolution of our career as a producer. We have opted to give visibility to the rural environment in almost all of our projects, and with Acordes Rurales We continue doing it from the cultural demand“explains Guillermo Aguilera, director of the program.
For his part, Vicente Aguilera, host of the program, assures that launching into this project has been an “incredible” experience. “I am not a music expert, but learning the stories of the artists who live in our towns has been revealing. Behind every song there are emotions, realities and dreams that we hope to share with our audience,” he shares
The podcast can now be heard on Spotify, Apple Podcasts and YouTube, and through the program’s online platform www.acordesrurales.com, where additional content is offered such as live sessionspromotional videos, articles and an interactive map of the municipalities involved.
The premiere of the first season presents the Zaragoza duo Ixeya, composed of Eli López and Myriam Carbonel, who have been working together since 2019. In this first episode, the duo reflects on how their rural roots influence their creative process, exploring the stories and mythology behind their latest album, 2Sisters. Additionally, listeners will be able to enjoy a live session exclusive that will include three of their most popular songs.
New episodes of musical groups of different styles will be added every month, from October to May. By recording each episode in a different municipality, the podcast aims to make life in these places visible, contribute to the fight against depopulation and claim the value of music as a link between generations and cultures.
