The Abu Dhabi Sports Council announced the issuance of tickets for the masses to attend the World Championships in short distance swimming (25 meters), which will witness the participation of the world’s elite swimmers, in addition to the accompanying events that are held in conjunction with the prestigious event.
The activities of the World Swimming Championships for short distances (25 meters) will be held at the Etihad Arena on Yas Island, from 16 to 21 December, as part of the Abu Dhabi International Water Sports Festival, which will witness the participation of more than 1,000 athletes representing more than 180 nationalities, competing for 44 world titles. In various competitions, which are held over 6 days, with a total prize money of $2.8 million.
Tickets for the global event, which is being held in Abu Dhabi for the first time, are available through the official website of the Etihad Arena: EtihadArena.ae. Tickets also include the Abu Dhabi World Aquatics Festival, which is held in conjunction with the World Swimming Championships, on Yas Island. His busy agenda includes: World High Diving Championship qualifiers, the World Team Diving Championships, the Open Water Relay (4×1500 metres), and the 10km Open Water Swimming World Cup Marathon Finals.
The global event provides fun and entertainment for family members of all ages with its festive atmosphere and various activities, which include, in addition to the exciting water sports competitions, many family entertainment activities hosted by the Sports Village, where visitors can learn about a wide variety of interactive experiences, fun, and events Cultural experiences, in addition to shopping experiences, tasting food and beverages, and the event organizers will reveal more activities of the Sports Village during the coming period.
For his part, Arif Hamad Al Awani, Secretary-General of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, said: “We are happy and proud to welcome the public to the World Championships for short distances (25 meters), and to allow them to follow the world’s elite swimmers and the stars of the Tokyo Olympics, as they participate and compete for the titles of the championship, which is being held for the first time in Abu Dhabi”.
He added: “Announcing the release of tickets contributes to encouraging all segments of society to attend and follow the event and emphasize its importance and global status, based on our keenness to embody societal interaction in all international sporting events that are held in Abu Dhabi.”
He continued: “The attendance of the public in the areas designated for them and their presence throughout the Sports Village contributes to enhancing the distinctive atmosphere of the event, and we are working during the coming period in cooperation with our partners to present an exceptional and impressive version in a safe and healthy environment.”
The World Swimming Championships for short distances (25 meters) includes competitions for men and women in all four competitions, namely: freestyle, breaststroke, backstroke and butterfly, with individual, medley and relay competitions. It was also announced that a limited number of tickets for the event will be released, and the organizers of the tournament are urging the public to hurry up to book their tickets before they run out.
Tickets are available in different categories, from single tickets for the qualifying races starting at 10 dirhams, and individual tickets for the final races starting from 25 dirhams, all the way to package tickets for all races (with prices starting from 150 dirhams). Two adults and two children under the age of 16 with prices starting from 50 dirhams for individual races, and 500 dirhams for all races.
