The Abu Dhabi Housing Authority formed a committee to decide on requests from citizens disposing of housing grants, in light of the legislation in force before October 2018, whether by sale or exchange in violation of the legislation in force, to address cases that took place before October 2, 2018 in accordance with the approved controls, and in a way that achieves the public interest.
The Authority announced that the committee it formed to consider and decide on the requests of those disposing of housing grants will begin receiving applications at the Abu Dhabi Housing Center, starting from May 1, 2024 until July 31, 2024.
The Authority required that requests for cases submitted before October 2, 2018 to the Committee be accompanied by the sale or exchange contract, in addition to official proof of the financial payment that was paid or received during the sale, purchase or exchange process.
In order to submit applications, the beneficiary must have disposed of the housing grant by buying and selling because he owns an alternative residence or an alternative residence shared with his wife or children. However, in the case of exchange, the process must be consistent with the policies of the housing programs and housing benefits in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
The Authority confirmed that the decisions of the committee that decides on the applications of those disposing of housing grants in violation of the applicable legislation will be final, and no applications will be received after the deadline set by the Authority.
Hamad Hareb Al Muhairi, Director General of the Abu Dhabi Housing Authority, said: “The formation of a committee to decide on the requests of those disposing of housing grants is in line with the aspirations of the Abu Dhabi government, to consider all matters that ensure achieving the public interest of society, and it is necessary to accelerate the inventory of requests of those disposing of housing grants. And take appropriate decisions regarding them, to close this file in the required manner.”
He stressed that the committee is dedicated to dealing with cases of disposal of housing grants that took place before October 2, 2018, and the provisions of the system and policies of the updated housing programs and housing benefits in Abu Dhabi are applied to new cases of disposal that took place after this date.
