Law enforcement officers in Moscow detained three men suspected of kidnapping a man and extorting 6 million rubles from him. This was announced on Thursday, October 21, in the capital’s Main Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia.
As told to the city news agency “Moscow” senior assistant to the head of the department, Yulia Ivanova, the detainees are under the article on kidnapping by a group of persons by prior conspiracy with the use of violence dangerous to life and health, and items used as weapons, for mercenary motives, as well as under the article on extortion committed by the group persons by prior conspiracy, with the use of violence.
According to the investigation, on October 16, 2021, the suspects attacked a man at the entrance of a house on Raevsky Street in Moscow. Men, threatening him with a traumatic pistol, forcibly put the victim in a car and transported him to different parts of the area in Moscow and the Moscow region, where, with the use of violence, demanded funds in the amount of 6 million rubles.
After that, they brought the victim to an apartment on Balaklavsky Prospekt, where their actions were stopped by law enforcement officers.
The intruders were detained, they turned out to be three natives of Yekaterinburg, aged 21 to 27 years. In the near future, the investigation will petition for the arrest of the defendants in the case. The investigation is ongoing.
On October 18, in Moscow, the Tagansky District Court sentenced a woman who extorted 2 million rubles from showman Sergei Glushko, known as Tarzan, to five years in prison.
