A truck transporting nitric acid had to stop when it was traveling on the AP-7, at the Los Alcázares and Torre Pacheco exit, when it was verified that it was dumping the load while it was circulating. The driver himself notified the 112 Emergency Coordination Center of the Region at 6:20 p.m. to alert about the spill of this chemical product.
A patrol from the Traffic Civil Guard went to the place where the truck was parked, which certified that the load had a leak in the tank’s closing joint, for which they requested the intervention of members of the Fire Department of the Region of Murcia.
It should be remembered that nitric acid is quite corrosive both by contact and by inhalation, so another vehicle had to be enabled to evacuate the load. This transfer has been carried out under the supervision of firefighters. Finally, the chemical material was exchanged between the transports.
