An earthquake measuring 5.1 on the Richter scale struck Japan early Wednesday morning.
Japan's Kyodo News Agency reported that the epicenter of the earthquake occurred off Ishikawa Prefecture on the island of Honshu on the coast of the Sea of Japan, at a depth of 10 kilometers below sea level, at a latitude of 37.7 degrees north and a longitude of 137.6 degrees east.
There was no warning of a tsunami, nor were there any reports of casualties or material losses.
