His Excellency Saeed Al Habsi, Director of the Human Rights Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, confirmed that the allegations contained in some media reports about the deportation of African workers from the UAE are not true, stressing that these allegations are not true and are a repetition of allegations that were previously denied.
Al-Habsi said, in a statement, that the report published by Impact International for Human Rights Policies included repeated allegations that the institution had previously published in 2021, and the UAE denied these allegations, indicating that they were incorrect, as the measures that were taken regarding a limited number. Of the African workers from stopping and deporting, it took place in accordance with the applicable laws, where all workers, without exception, are bound by documented legal work contracts that preserve their rights, and that the concerned parties must abide by what is stated in these contracts, and that any termination of a contractual relationship with the worker must take place in accordance with to the requirements contained in the contracts.
He affirmed the UAE’s commitment to full transparency in dealing with these issues, calling on the media to refer to the official information issued by the concerned UAE authorities in this regard.
