In St. Petersburg, a court gave 8 years to a resident of Chechnya for shooting at guests at a holiday
The Vyborg District Court of St. Petersburg sentenced Ibragim Baygiraev to eight years for attempted murder of two people. Lenta.ru was informed about this by the joint press service of the city courts.
According to “Fontanka”the defendant, a resident of Chechnya, shot at guests – a 36-year-old St. Petersburg man and his 27-year-old companion – at a holiday on February 24, 2023, held in an apartment in a building on Prosveshcheniya Avenue.
From the case materials it follows that Baigiraev, in a state of alcoholic intoxication and motivated by personal hostility towards his acquaintances, shot at them six times from a self-loading pistol “MR-80-13T” at close range, and then hit one of them twice on the head with the handle. After that he disappeared. The wounded were urgently hospitalized, and doctors saved their lives.
Baigiraev partially admitted his guilt, insisting on reclassifying the charge from attempted murder to intentional infliction of grievous bodily harm. However, the court rejected him and sent him to a maximum security colony.
On February 2, it was reported that in the Tyumen region investigators opened a criminal case of an attempt on the life of a pensioner. The incident occurred during a beaver hunt near the village of Reshetnikovo. An oil worker from Tyumen who came to the field armed himself with a carbine and went to look for beaver lodges. However, for an unknown reason, instead of a beaver, he shot at a 63-year-old pensioner who was nearby and hit him in the stomach. The victim was sent to the hospital, the hunter was detained, and it turned out that his weapon was not registered.
