During one of the many interviews that anticipated the launch of Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree, he was asked Hidetaka Miyazakithe boss of FromSoftware, if it would in favor of a PC port of Bloodbornein fact the dream of many players who are passionate about the games made by the Japanese studio.
Strangely, Miyazaki, who on other occasions had dismissed the issue by explaining that the decision on the matter lies with Sony, the owner of the Bloodborne IP, this time offered a more elaborate response, where it appears clear that would be in favor of the ideaalthough he apparently can’t admit it or “he’d get in trouble.”
Miyazaki’s words on a possible conversion of Bloodborne for PC
According to the reconstruction offered by PC Gamer, after asking the question the FromSoftware members present started laughing, with Miyazaki declaring:
“I know for a fact that these guys (referring to producer Yasuhiro Kitao and star Bobby Simpson sitting next to him) want a PC version. If I said I’d want it too, I would get in trouble like them. But it’s not something I would oppose.”
“Obviously, as one of the creators of Bloodborne, my honest personal opinion is that I would love it if more players had the opportunity to enjoy it“Miyazaki added.
“Especially when we’re talking about a game with years behind it, one of those titles from the past that are lost because they are available on older hardware, I think that for any game in similar conditions it would be nice to have the opportunity for more players to be able to do that experience and reliving this relic of the past. So as far as I’m concerned, it’s definitely not something I would object to.”
To recap: FromSoftware would agree to a conversion of Bloodborne for PC, Miyazaki would also agree (or at least not oppose it) and PC players would jump for joy. Unfortunately, as previously mentioned, the final decision is up to Sony, which has so far shown no signs of interest in this regard. But never say never.
