Meat is digested for a long time, so its combination with other products should be treated more carefully, dietitian Elena Solomatina told Lente.ru. She noted that it can be harmful if you eat it with carbohydrates: pasta, potatoes, cereals and bread.
According to the doctor, this can lead to intoxication, and as a result, to flatulence and other unpleasant consequences. She explained that unlike meat, carbohydrates do not need to be digested for a long time, but if they enter the stomach along with it, they begin to ferment.
The meat will lie in the stomach for a long time until it is well processed with hydrochloric acid. So we ate a piece of meat, threw pasta, and on top of something else a sweet piece of cake or cupcake. To avoid undesirable consequences, the doctor advised me to eat meat with vegetables, not carbohydrates. Fish, according to her, can be eaten with mashed potatoes, and soup with bread – these combinations are digested faster. Porridge or cottage cheese is better to use with berries, scrambled eggs in the same way as meat – with vegetables. Potatoes are best eaten with vegetables, especially cold, such as salad. In this case, it will not be deposited in fat, the nutritionist shared.
