An MIT team manages, for the first time, to locate rocks measuring only a few dozen meters in their place of origin, which often fall on our planet without anyone seeing them arrive.
It may seem illogical, but it is not the large asteroids that worry astronomers the most, but the small ones. It is true that a 10 km asteroid is capable of inflicting damage thousands of times greater than what a rock ‘only’ a size would cause.
