A dramatic news has spread throughout Italy in the last few hours. Filippo Sabattoli, a student of only 15 years, who was training as an advertising graphic and who deeply loved the game of football, died last Thursday night, after struggling for about two years with a tumor that left him no way out. The whole community of Castel Goffredo, in the Province of Mantua, remembers him with immense emotion.
A lonely boy 15 years with a drawer full of dreams and good hopes. This was Philip. Unfortunately, life, sometimes too hard and unfair, has decided that everything the boy wanted must never be realized.
Filippo Sabattoli studied in the Falcone sole of Buttonhole, also in the Province of Mantua. He was forming in the branch of advertising graphics and he carried on his studies with extreme seriousness and enthusiasm.
He died in the night between last Thursday and Friday, in his house in Castel Goffredo, surrounded byaffection of his loved ones. His mom, dad and sister.

Filippo’s other great dream was to become a footballer. Before 2019, the year in which he had to stop for the discovery of the tumor, he was in fact playing in the category of the team’s Allievi Ceresarese.

Heartbreaking news for all of us. We were prepared because we knew what he was going through but we are never ready to accept the death of a boy. He came to us when he was still a child, he grew up with us.
Yesterday afternoon, Saturday 6 November, Filippo’s funeral took place in the church of Castel Goffredo. In addition to the mayor of the city and his family, there were also the classmates and the boy’s team. All matches scheduled for yesterday have been canceled to allow the teammates to be able to attend the funeral.
