It has long been worth studying for a long time if they are not updated permanently. The work world demands continuous training, and more in these times of technological disruption. And to this different agencies, public and private, are dedicated, such as the State Foundation for Employment Training (FUNDAE), of a public nature, which drives and coordinate professional training policies, in the field of employment and labor relations. The General State Administration, Autonomous Communities and the most representative business and union organizations are part of its development (CEOE, Cepyme, UGT, CCOO and CIG). This model is part of the European Employment Strategy, an initiative dating from the early 2000s.
Antonio de Luis, managing director of FUNDAE, shows the figures for the performance of the institution, which gives an idea of its dimension: «In business formation, last year there were 5,800,000 workers; in subsidized training, 715,000; And within ‘Digitalizate’, the greatest space for public-private collaboration, companies are training for free, with more than 8 million tickets ».
The benefits of the training offered by Fundae have “first a sense of knowledge update,” says Luis. “Then, in the revolution in which we are, with artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, the cloud … All jobs are being reformulated, in all sectors,” he adds. “Employability improvement is another strength,” he estimates.
Access to courses is completely free and can be reached through companies, training centers or the Fundae platform. «The gratuity – indicates – allows people who could not do it otherwise. Right now we have some scholarships with Google, IBM and other technological companies, for engineering, digital transformation and other areas ».
The training modalities are online, face -to -face and hybrid, which need a very powerful platform. Thanks to the Next generation funds of the European Union (EU), the platform that Al already founded with the collaborating technological companies, “59 companies that give 1,500 free training resources,” says Antonio de Luis, who states that “it has expanded to training actions.”
The courses are aimed at the entire working population, especially SME employees. However, the managing director of FUNDAE highlights a pattern: «The most formed people are the ones who are using our platform, because they know their usefulness. With a special focus on artificial intelligence. AI affects us all, in all sectors, in all positions, ”he says.
On the future of the formation, by Luis highlights that it will be “very concrete, of practical and direct use of technological environments.” “And very changing because professions are redefining right now,” he says.
Update
The finance sector is an example of the permanent need for training. It requires the regulation that the stock market advisor has 30 hours of annual certification in continuous training. And planner, 35. “Continuous training guarantees that the advisor is on a day -to -day basis,” says Jesús Pérez, director of the advice and financial planning accreditations of the Institute of stock studies (IEB). “Because it’s about Changing Products, Laws and Prosecutors. It is the way to confirm that the professional is updated and is fully useful for recommendations to the final customer, ”he says.
The IEB offers, enumerates, “an Financial Advice and Planning Program, the Master of the Stock Exchange and Financial Markets, the Master of International Finance and another that serves to inform, but not to advise, it is of lower rank, the Financial Informant Program.”
The Financial Advice Specialization Program, which requires a specific exam, “is a clone of the EFA (European Financial Advisory),” says Pérez, director of this course, which has been taught since the beginning of the century. “Although the profile has been varying, people now predominate,” he says.
The courses are face -to -face online and are also recorded. Some students follow classes from Latin America countries. The platform includes documentation, technical notes, the teacher’s powerpoint, test, practical cases and videos. “The financial advice specialization course intends,” he says – that even someone who does not know finance, financial and savings products, acquires a timely idea of each of the base products that exist, such as fixed income, whether public or private, or variable income. It is also sought that the student know the valuation methods so that he knows if the price of a market is expensive or cheap and if it is the opportunity to enter or leave. Then there are derivatives, futures, Forward, options, currencies … ».
Another part of the agenda is made up of products already packaged, such as investment funds, pension funds, life insurance; Taxation, with personal income tax, taxes, successions and donations, heritage, societies; the regulatory framework, with money laundering prevention, LOPD, Mifid; or news such as cryptocurrencies.
The professionals to whom this type of programs are directed are, explains Pérez, “people who work in banking, advising on customer money, or in law firms.”
Ángel Hernández Espada, member architect of the Governing Board of the Official College of Architects of Madrid (COAM), is responsible for the Institute for Continuing Training and the Building Department. “The institute is in charge of the continuous training of technology, regulations, intervention in heritage, update of construction processes, urban planning, accessibility, in all issues that evolve.” Both veteran and novel architects are part of the courses “because the regulations, land laws change, there are new structural and technical codes,” he says.
It also has in its tasks the institute in charge of the School of Oppositions where the architects who are going to present themselves to the oppositions for the Bodies of Public Finance, of the City Council or of the Community are prepared.
The most demanded courses, mentions the expert, are those of “those related to design and calculation programs.” «They also enjoy quite acceptance those referring to accessibility. We have courses, for example, with the ONCE, which is quite demanded by the importance in accessibility of buildings, on artificial intelligence, acoustics or sustainability, ”he adds. Since 2025 began, 1,050 hours of training, 24 courses, with 1,376 registered students have been executed.
Courses can be studied in face -to -face modalities, online and hybrid. They are open, they are not limited, engineers, technical architects, decorators can register … there is only one that due to their specificity requires the title of architect, such as the School of Oppositors or the intervention programs in heritage. There are two prices depending on whether students are collegiate or not.
Continuous formation in the world of architecture is fundamental, among other reasons “because materials evolve,” he says. “We are already forming decarbonization,” he reports. Intimately linked to the training is the building department, which Hernández also directs. From March 25 to 27, Matcoam construction week is celebrated, an important moment also for training.
‘Microlearning’ up
Labor rotation in Spain stands out in the EU. 6% of workers have changed their jobs recently, according to Eurostat data. Infojobs says that in 2024 42% of companies considered the loyalty of talent as one of the main challenges. To be able to retain it, 35% of the businesses invested in training programs during the last year, to increase employee competitiveness, says Accenture. Synergie has made a report detailing the most important trends in corporate training in 2025, among which are ‘microlearning’ (rapid training method based on the segmentation of learning in short-term capsules, between 5-10 minutes, focused on key concepts), corporate social responsibility training and individualized learning options.
María Luaces, director of Human Resource Solutions in Synergie Spain, explains that the ‘microlearning’ “allows to acquire knowledge in a concentrated, agile and practice way». In addition, it facilitates its integration into the working day, since it makes it possible “to students to learn to their own rhythm and adapt the schedules to their needs, interfering to a lesser extent in the workload,” he emphasizes.
Overview
Corporate social responsibility is increasingly relevant not only for the image of companies, but to ensure business development. In order for this commitment to be effective, according to Luaces, “it is essential to train professionals of transverse teams of the company in this area; The CSR cannot be the exclusive responsibility of an department, but must permeate in the shared culture throughout the organization ». “Integrating the CSR into continuous training programs allows all areas of the organization to understand their role and actively contribute to more responsible practices,” he says.
Personalized training is the way, says Luaces: «As the World Economic Forum includes, as a consequence of the great technological advances we are living, 52% of workers will need a training of ‘reskilling’ or ‘UPSKILLING’ in the next three years. In this context, traditional training models, standardized for the entire template, are losing strength in favor of methodologies that fit individual needs and that take into account both the starting point and the interests of each employee ».
A new era of formation to catch a reality in constant change.
