The Region of Murcia has the capacity to lead the national model in the installation of photovoltaic plants. The annual hours of sunshine that nourish this area make it the ideal place to bet on this type of clean energy, a fact that also implies, to an increasing extent, social participation, promoting the democratization of access to the production of this renewable.
The importance of the associative movement in the sector and the transition from investment to self-consumption in these energies will focus tomorrow, Wednesday, the first round table of the II Photovoltaic Solar Energy Forum, an event organized by LA VERDAD that will put on the table, thanks to a dozen of experts, the situation of the sector, its challenges and opportunities. It will be at 9:30 a.m. at the Enclave Museum of the Wall (Mudem) in Molina de Segura, with the sponsorship of Soltec, Total Energies and Statkraft and the collaboration of the Molina de Segura City Council and X-ELIO.

The colloquium will highlight the power of consumers in the paradigm shift, the current situation of self-consumption in the Region or the role of energy communities and renewable energy distribution cooperatives, in the experience of Eduardo de San Nicolás, president of Ahmur; Miguel Ángel Martínez-Aroca, president of Anpier; Miguel Ángel Mena, director of the Lasolar Cooperative; Francisco Espín, president of Aremur; and Pedro Antonio Roca, UNEF delegate.
It will not be the only round table, since the second will delve fully into the 'Challenges and opportunities of the photovoltaic market in the Region', with the participation of Raúl Morales, CEO of Soltec; Alvaro Ramos Solá, business development director of Total Energies Renewables Ibérica; Erica Morales, Head of Sustainability at Statkraft; Fernando Lacaci, COO of X-ELIO, and Federico Miralles, general director of Community Energy. Experts will analyze here the obstacles to progress in the production of photovoltaic energy, the importance of social and environmental integration in these facilities or the keys to consolidating this ecosystem in the Region.
The event, moderated by Miguel Ángel Ruiz, head of the Local Area of LA VERDAD, will be inaugurated by Juan María Vázquez, Minister of the Environment, Universities, Research and Mar Menor. The closing will be carried out by José Ángel Alfonso, mayor of Molina de Segura.
