Carrie Kemp is a Scottish woman who was spending a holiday in Ibiza, when she received a call from the dog hotel where she had left her German shepherd Rayne: the animal had escaped.
The woman did not hesitate to return to Scotland and in the end, the story had a happy ending and thanks to the use of drones that allowed them to locate Rayne, who spent 17 days wandering through the Highlands, the famous Highlands.
As stated in the Daily Mailthe dog wandered for hundreds of kilometers and when she was found, he had blood on his paws because of the long walks through the rugged landscapes.
Finally, a rescue team was called and live broadcast cameras, traps, drones and thermal telescopes to locate Rayne, who was found this Wednesday.
“When I got the message saying that she had been caught, I couldn’t believe it. I felt totally overwhelmed, I was shaking like crazy. I couldn’t believe that we had finally found her. He jumped on the kids, it was incredible. “Hundreds of people participated in the search,” Carrie Kemp said.
“The Missing Pets team was amazing. They spent the entire night in the van with the thermal telescopes, marking traces of food. The locals went out to look for her every day and carry out searches with thermal scopes,” the woman continues.
“One of the volunteers even had an infrared dronebut we were always two steps behind Rayne. Every time there was a sighting the adrenaline would go up, but the area was so large that every time we arrived she was already gone,” he adds.
On the night she was captured, traps were set in the Comrie area after Rayne was sighted. Carrie, who works in administration, said that when they finally found Rayne “I couldn’t believe it was all over.”
“Although she is very thin, wobbly on the back and covered in ticks, scabs and scarshas returned barking happily and playing with his toys. “I never want to lose sight of her again,” he concluded.
