The TikTok user has spoken on this topic @mariaperadorcriminologiaa criminologist specialized in cybercrime who uses social networks to spread information about certain aspects of her profession. In one of the most recent videos on her account, the young woman provides some advice to avoid falling into the clutches of one of these criminals.

«Applications like Tinder or Bumble are the perfect place for cybercriminals because thanks to them they extract a lot of information useful about us«, explains the user at the beginning of the video, who goes on to list a few tips to protect our privacy »when we flirt«.

The first thing that María advises is not to overfill our profiles with information about us, as this could lead cybercriminals to pretend that they have the same interests as us. In this sense, the best thing will always be a nice description that does not provide too much data, as well as avoiding the use of the labels that some apps like Tinder provide to mark our tastes.

In addition, for greater security, the expert assures that we must protect the rest of our profiles on social networks by configuring them as private accounts. This is necessary, he explains, because through your name in the dating app they can search for you on other networks, and it is useless if you do not give a lot of information about yourself on one if you give it on another.

Finally, although it may seem obvious, the young woman advises not to interact with any account that is not verified. Furthermore, whenever possible, it is advisable to search the Internet for the name and surname of the person you are speaking to, as this way we will verify if they have other social networks and if they are who they say they are.
