The National Police dismantled a cannabis association in Cartagena that was covered by its legal basis but had a point of sale for narcotic substances. The operation resulted in the arrest of six men and one woman for drug trafficking, illegal possession of weapons and belonging to a criminal group.
The association was located in the Cartagena deputation of San Ginés. However, the agents suspected that those responsible could be using two buildings located in the Las Seiscientas neighborhood to guard marijuana and hashish. Subsequently, a young man was in charge of transporting the narcotic substances to the association on a scooter.
With a judicial authorization, the agents carried out the search in the houses. Inside they found 24,000 euros in cash, about 20,000 grams of marijuana, 3,000 grams and 257 acorns of hashish and numerous objects used for dosage and sale. They also seized three vehicles and a 9 mm parabelum caliber ‘Star’ pistol.
After the search, seven people were arrested, all of Spanish nationality and between the ages of 20 and 35. In addition, five of them had extensive criminal histories. Six of those arrested were placed at the disposal of the Investigating Court number 2 of Cartagena in guard duties, which ordered their entry into prison.
