Five-year-old boy Ryan, who fell into a 32-meter well in the Moroccan province of Chefchaouen and survived there for five days, has died. This was reported in the office of King Mohammed VI of Morocco, reports RIA News.
Mohammed VI called the child’s parents and expressed his condolences to them. It is noted that the king closely followed the development of the situation, and also issued decrees to all relevant authorities of the kingdom to take measures to save the boy. In addition, the head of state thanked the rescuers who took part in the operation.
Ryan fell into the well, which is only 45 centimeters in diameter, on February 2. The head of the rescue team, Abdelhabi Temrani, explained that due to the nature of the soil, they had to dig a tunnel to the depth of the well. For the duration of the operation, rescuers managed to provide the boy with an oxygen tube and water. The excavations continued for five days, as a result of which the child was pulled out.
