The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova answered a provocative question from a journalist from the UK during briefing on Thursday, March 3rd.
A representative of the British TV channel Sky news questioned the actions of the Russian authorities during the special operation to protect Donbass.
“Are you really not hitting civilians or are you just lying?” he asked.
In turn, Zakharova noted that she did not intend to continue the conversation “in that tone.”
“You will direct your propaganda to your British politicians, but here you keep yourself within limits. If you can’t, if you can’t, don’t pass yourself off as a journalist. Once again, you understand, right? We are open to everyone,” she said.
In addition, the representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs pointed out the incorrectness of questions containing a certain ideological position.
“I would like to draw your attention to the fact that the Department of Defense initially spoke about this, conducts campaigns that target military infrastructure. As Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said today, unfortunately, indeed, casualties among both representatives of the armed forces and the civilian population, yes, happen, ”she continued.
Earlier on the same day, Russian President Vladimir Putin, at a meeting of the Security Council, reported on attempts by Ukrainian nationalists to use civilians and foreign citizens as human shields.
The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation also said that the offensive continues. Acting on the adjacent flank with the units of the DPR, the Russian military took control of the settlements of Blagoveshchenka, Sinya Gora, Petrovskoye, Shevchenkovskoye, Sladkaya Balka, Ilchenkovo, Ocherevataya and Novoprokopovka.
