Advance and boost Circular economyas well as the Sustainable mobility through renewable fuelsIt requires a series of measures that go through greater tax and technological neutrality.
This is one of the proposals that has been put on the table during the celebration at the University of Zaragoza of the day of the Association of Renewable Fuels and Circular Economics in Spain for sustainable mobility (we grow), in which it has been indicated that Renewable fuels can reduce CO2 emissions equivalent to electrification so they should include adequate fiscal and regulatory incentives.
In addition to this measure, this forum has also been advocated by the harmonization, certainty and regulatory simplification In order to have a clear and stable regulation, since from the sector a simplification of the regulations is considered necessary and urgent, apart from ensuring certainty to attract investment and accelerate strategic projects. In this sense, it has stressed that legislative harmonization is key to the reindustrialization and competitiveness of the sector.
The sector has also raised that Renewable fuels are recognized as zero net emissions in exhaust pipesince these fuels do not increase CO2 in the atmosphere. A fact to which they consider that it must be reflected in the legislation to guarantee its deployment and allow its real contribution to decarbonization.
Finally, he has also opted for support the competitiveness of the Spanish industry and its commitment to decarbonization. In this sense, it has been explained that Spain has the potential to lead the production of renewable fuels, which will contribute to strengthening its energy autonomy, apart from generating employment and guaranteeing a fair and sustainable transition.
“It does not consist only of promoting renewable fuels, but rethink the entire value chain so that the reduction of emissions and business competitiveness go hand in hand, “said Sergio Treviño, president of Cremos and CEO of Sesé.
Treviño added that “Transport decarbonization cannot depend on a single solution.” Therefore, he has stressed that “the different public administrations establish the objectives, but letting the companies and consumers have freedom to choose the option that best suits our needsbuilding a fair energy transition model and based on technological neutrality. ”
“We must talk about the solutions we already have within our reach for the decarbonization of transport,” added Mónica de la Cruz, general director of Cremos. During his speech, he has also stated that “the circular economy and renewable fuels are not only a future commitment, but A real and available alternative, in all its modes: land, maritime and aerialbut above all these last two, so difficult to electrify. Renewable fuels allow to immediately reduce CO emissions?taking advantage of infrastructures and technologiesYoto existing, and offering a viable response. “
From the academic sector, the rector of the University of Zaragoza, José Antonio Mayoral, said that, from the university environment, “we want to continue contributing to knowledge, training and research, to face challenges and take advantage of opportunities.”
Finally, in the closure, the MEP of the PSOE and member of the Transportation Commission of the European Parliament, Rosa Serrano, has pointed out that “The need for a vision that gives the industry a globally competitive framework supported by three pillars: the Innovation, decarbonization and economic security“
In this line, he explained that “public-private collaboration is fundamental, so that The financial support that protects employment is guaranteed. In short, it is key that we move towards a fair and sustainable transition and for that we need normative harmonization between the Member States to ensure a more resilient future. “
