Science and technology also need younger and more renewed profiles, who are capable of bringing new ideas. “I studied a double degree in Computer Engineering and Business Administration and Management. I have managed to develop a very diverse and strong profilee”, explained Marina Boyero, Data Scientist Al Services at CaixaBank Tech during the Hipatia Awards, organized by elEconomista.es.
And he added that “right now I am studying a master’s degree in applied Artificial Intelligence (AI) at the Carlos III University, so I am combining my work with my training, so I don’t have much free time for much else. I like what I do and I want to continue training because it is a sector that is constantly evolving and you have to be up to date with the latest trends.“And he added that “I like this learning that I am doing because in the future, no matter what position, I would like to point out a technical perspective and advance more than I can have.”
Boyero explained what his job is like and how he got to where he is. “It all started three years ago, when I won the award given by CaixaBank and Microsoft, which recognizes the academic and personal journey of 15 women. For me this award represents a before and after, because Part of the prize was a six-month scholarship at Caixabnak, here I had my first contact with the world of work. After the scholarship, I was offered the opportunity to stay and join the AI team,” said Data Scientist Al Services at CaixaBank Tech.
Regarding his current work, “we are a very broad team, where there are many profiles beyond the engineers themselves and we participate in innovative projects. I like to think that I am an important piece within all these projects that contribute to both the company and society.“Boyero explained.
When asked about where he sees himself in a few years, Boyero said that “I would like to inspire other young women to be encouraged and bet on technological careers” and added that “now that AI is booming, and it is clear that it has come to stay, and that will have a great impact on society, I would like in the future to be able to look back and say that I was there and that I contributed my grain of sand in their day.“.
