In a safe in the Supreme Court, Judge Ángel Luis Hurtado keeps a hard drive full of secrets. There are all the communications of Álvaro García Ortiz, the State Attorney General: all his messages and files; everything that was on his computer, on his tablet and on his mobile phone.
It is a very sensitive material. The State Attorney General is a key player: the Prosecutor’s Office, under his orders, participates in all trials, in all judicial investigations. That hard drive is stored – in the words of the State attorney – “information that affects other countries” and “that may compromise the security of the State.”
