The PSOE has requested to appear as an accusation in the two cases opened in the National Court in which the commissioner of the Koldo case, Víctor de Aldama, is accused. These are those related to the plot of the purchase of masks during the pandemic and the case of alleged fraud with hydrocarbonswhich led the businessman to provisional prison until his release last Thursday.
Thus, the party has requested this Tuesday his appearance as a popular accusation in both cases opened in the Central Courts of Investigation numbers 2 and 5 given the “national interest” of those cases and the “serious facts investigated».
The movement occurs after the statement, last Thursday, of Víctor de Aldama before Judge Ismael Morero. In his appearance, the alleged organizer of the plot attributed bites to the former minister José Luis Ábalosthe number three of the PSOE, Santos Cerdán, and the chief of staff of the vice president María Jesús Montero. He also implicated the President of the Government, who allegedly knew of Aldama’s activities, and his wife, Begoña Gómez.
The PSOE now responds by requesting its appearance “on behalf of its members and the general interest of the citizens who govern the actions of this organization.” Socialist sources consider that the facts investigated in both cases “could constitute public crimes“and that, therefore, the party has adopted that decision “given the concern and social alarm generated.”
The objective, these same sources explain, is «contribute to these instructions achieving the investigation of all the facts surrounding the object of the procedures that indirectly have the appearance of a crime, to get to know the true reality of all of them.
The first case investigates the mask contracts awarded to the company in the middle of the pandemic. Management Solutionsepicenter of the Koldo case, for which the Supreme Court took over the investigation of former Minister Ábalos. The second cause, that of hydrocarbons, is behind the alleged fraud to the Public Treasury which, in just two years, rises to more than 182 million euros.
