Mercadona has enabled a channel in which it answers the most frequently asked questions from consumers. The supermarket chain has a Customer Service service in which it clarifies doubts through the Internet about the opening hours of its establishments, job offers, environmental policy or the products sold on its shelves.
This section covers the majority of questions from the “bosses”, as they call it. Mercadona to its customers, who are interested in aspects as diverse as the origin of some products such as horchata, anchovies, honey or potatoes; the expiration dates of the salt or the came; or how traps are used for cockroaches or if these are dangerous for pets.
Many clients of the main Spanish commercial distribution brand have questioned what the pad that is in the trays of beef or chicken sold by the supermarket chain.
Mercadona clarifies in this regard that “the absorbent pads that are on the meat trays are made of cellulose.” The Valencian company indicates that “they absorb the juice released by the meat and reduce the possibility of bacteria growing in the product.”
Mercadona emphasizes in the response to its customers that “the pads are suitable for contact with food, but are not edible”, and consequently, the Valencian company warns that “if they have been cooked together with the meat “recommends not to consume the product.”
