José María del Nido Benavente He did not want to miss the 18th Meeting of Sevillistas’ Clubs, where more than 80 clubs from Nervion are meeting these days in the Portuguese city of Algarve in order to fraternize in a red and white key, and in the case of the former president, also to speak out again in a tone of denunciation about the sporting and economic situation of the entity chaired by his son, now that a new ordinary general meeting of shareholders is about to be called again, with a date still to be decided. The event has been organized by the ‘San Fernando’ Federation of Sevillistas’ Clubs, which a few weeks ago led to a very forceful distancing from the board chaired by Del Nido Carrasco, which was later denied, and in which Del Nido Benavente could be seen together to the advisor Enrique de la Cerda Cisneros, as well as the former Sevilla player Beto Pimparela close collaborator of the lawyer, who has accompanied him in a new bath of Sevillismo of the presidential candidate.
So Del Nido Benavente has not remained silent by any means, who, when asked about the presence of Sevillismo gathered there, stated that he felt happy about participating in this match in which, he assures, there is some uncertainty regarding the future of the club. «Very happy, more than 150 clubs were represented, with around 650 people who attended. The atmosphere, as you have seen, is one of concern.. But at the same time an atmosphere of hope and desire for society to return to what it was. “That it has been difficult for us to get to where we have gotten in the last five years due to the management of the Nido Carrasco-Castro Carmona tandem,” he added.
Regarding the next meeting, Del Nido Benavente trusts that this time it will be the charm and he will finally be able to exercise his right to vote: «I can tell you that this Monday I have once again requested the Board of Directors to hold a new General Meeting, which, as it will be after December 11, since there will no longer be any argument so you can vote. First, because the group has won. Second, because there is a mandatory mandate from the first instance judge number 10 of Seville that gives me freedom to vote. And third, because there is a resolution of the Provincial Court of Seville, fifth section, which says that the agreement under which they are insinuating that they could leave me without voting, is an agreement between us that does not bind society and that allows Any of the signatories can vote with freedom of discretion,” he argued.
The largest shareholder also had words to attest to the relationship that, in his opinion, the federation of clubs has with the council: «I believe that there is no Sevillista who is happy with this. The leaders of a football club have to be close to their fans. They know the idea that the fan has of the progress of society and if they have to put up with all the criticism for a moment, they put up with it and absolutely nothing happens. “To move away from the clubs is to move away from the fans,” he indicated.
