In principle, Monday will be a calm day with hardly any rain in the Peninsula and the Balearic Islandsalthough it will continue to rain locally heavily in the Canary Islands, especially on the more mountainous islands. At the same time, mists and fogs will continue in the interior of the Peninsula, especially at dawn and early in the morning. At the same time, the haze will begin to retreat. Plus, temperatures won’t vary too much.
On Tuesday temperatures could begin to dropaccording to Del Campo. This would happen due to the passage of a front associated with an Atlantic storm, which will also leave rain in the extreme north and snowfall in the mountains of that sector.
Starting Wednesday of next week
That front will continue its advance on Wednesday and after it cold air will arrive, which will cause a more pronounced drop in temperature and normal temperatures for the season. That day, the rains will extend to other areas of the northern half and to the southern mountains, with snowfall at relatively low levels.
Looking ahead to the second half of the week there is still a lot of uncertainty. According to the AEMET spokesperson, it is most likely that it will continue to rain in northern areasas well as in points in the west of the peninsula, as a consequence of the passage of Atlantic fronts. On this occasion, a good part of the Mediterranean area will be left out, except perhaps for points in the north of Catalonia and the Balearic Islands, where there may be some rain.
At the same time, there are uncertainties about how temperatures may evolve. Right now, the most likely scenario is that the higher values rise back to normal for the season starting Thursday. Finally, with regard to the Canary Islands, Del Campo has highlighted that the rainfall will subside.
