The first edition of Talent Arena plans to bring together the international developer community at the Fira de Barcelona between March 3 and 5, 2025, coinciding with the celebration of the Mobile World Congress (MWC).
This was explained this Wednesday at a press conference by the Secretary of State for Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence, María González; the Secretary of Digital Policies of the Generalitat, Maria Galindo; the deputy mayor, Jordi Valls; the CEO of GSMA, John Hoffman, and the CEO of Mobile World Capital Barcelona (MWCapital), Francesc Fajula.
Talent Arena is an initiative of MWCapitalwith the collaboration of the Generalitat of Catalonia, the Ministry of Digital Transformation and Public Service, Barcelona City Council and GSMA. The forum has main partner to CaixaBank, as event sponsor to Schneider Electric and how HR sponsor to Eurofirms Group.
Hoffman has stressed that “at the heart” of the project is the human talentsince, as he explained, technology does not develop on its own, but someone has done it, so the will is to cultivate, care for and promote this talent.
For his part, Fajula has assured that it will be “the first and largest event dedicated to digital talent” within the framework of the telephone show and that it will connect 2.0 professionals with the human resources sector.
Wozniak and Kasparov
The first edition of Talent Arena will arrive after the pilot test this yearwhich also took place within the framework of the MWC at the Fira de Barcelona Gran Via venue.
The event aims to promote learning, networking and professional growth in the digital field. The appointment will include workshops, stands and hackathonsas well as the participation of 200 speakers.
Although the prospects of attendees have not been made public, Hoffman recalled that 4,000 people attended the pilot and has said that this edition will be “bigger and better.”
Among the participants will be the co-founder of Apple, Steve Wozniak; former world chess champion Garry Kasparovand Google’s Vice President of Product, Xavier Amatriainamong others.
